Our Story

Hi, welcome to “Reckless Vacation”, we’re Ed and Jessi!

 

We love to travel and experience new places but decided we didn’t want to give up our “sticks and bricks” so we became part-time Rv’ers. Ed’s wanderlust grew as a child traveling the U.S. and Canada with his parents and expanded internationally after he joined the U.S. Navy. He was able to visit many countries in South America, the Mediterranean, the Balkans, Europe, Scandinavia, and even the former Soviet Union. Although Jessi hasn’t traveled as extensively, she has always dreamt of faraway places and most definitely has enjoyed living life to the fullest.

 

After hearing way too many stories about people we knew who said, “when we retire, we are going to travel the country” only to have their dreams cut short from some tragedy happening right before they we going to be able to start. These stories made it all too clear that tomorrow may never come and led us to start the process of looking at RV’s. We spent over a year researching and touring RV’s of all classes and brands before finally purchasing our 5th wheel (a 2020 Grand Design Solitude) and starting “living our tomorrows today”!

 

We decided to document our experiences, the good and the bad, for ourselves and also so we could share them with our friends, family, and anyone else who may be interested in our story.
